EOS Calibration Program

Calibration Reviews

Instrument calibration plans are the subject of the calibration reviews. Currently, the calibration review involves an EOS Instrument Investigation Team, which includes the Instrument Calibration Team, making a complete, summary presentation of their calibration plan to a review panel assembled by the EOS Calibration Scientist. The review is chaired by the EOS Calibration Scientist or someone appointed by him, is usually held at the facility at which the instrument is calibrated, and is typically two days in length. The specific time and place for the review is determined through negotiation between the EOS Calibration Scientist and the Instrument Calibration Representative. Following the review, a final report is generated by the panel chairperson. Within three months of the completion of the review, copies of this report are provided to the Instrument Investigation Team, the GSFC Instrument Mananger, and the review panel members.

Detailed information on calibration reviews can be obtained from Jim Butler, NASA's GSFC, phone (301) 614-5942 or e-mail: James.J.Butler@nasa.gov.
