Michael Mishchenko is a Senior Scientist at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York City. He received the M.S. in Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1983 and the Ph.D. in Physics (with honors) from the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences in 1987.

Dr. Mishchenko's research interests include electromagnetic scattering, radiative transfer in planetary atmospheres and particulate surfaces, terrestrial and planetary remote sensing, cloud and aerosol physics, and direct and indirect aerosol forcing of climate.
