Progress Reports

ABSTRACT

We propose a project to design and implement a data and information management system called FLUXDIS, to standardize and store flux data from three major networks and from (NASA) sites so that the data can be used in validating Earth Observing System (EOS) products. We will compile and organize flux data in standardized formats, perform quality assurance checks, review and augment the metadata and provide EOS investigators - and later the broader user commmunity-access to the data. We will process data from the AmeriFIux, EuroFlux, Australian Ozflux regional networks, and from NASA sites in the Canadian boreal forest and Brazilian Amazon tropical forests. In addition, the flux data will be submitted to the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) DAAC, where other NASA finding will be used to distribute and archive the data.
